Ans: “Around a Medicinal Creeper” is an enlightening story written by one of the most talented and versatile Kannada writers K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswy. The story stresses the importance of indeginous system of healing and showcases unique properties of our medicinal plants grown in our forests. The narrator in the story says that it has taken almost twenty years for him to learn some facts about the medicinal creeper that he weaves the story around. It signifies the importance attached to such medicinal plants and the writer’s long labour in researching such treasure in our backyard. In fact, the narrator tries to understand the innocent villagers who have a lot of knowledge about the rare plants with medicinal properties but because of superstitious beliefs attached, their worth is shrouded in mystery.
